STOCKS AND SHARES.

There was a fair demand for investment Btocks on the Auckland sharemarket on Saturday morning. In Government lines there were buyers, for Soldiers' Loan (bonds) at £99 Ss, sellers £99 15s. The inscribed issue were quoted 5s lower. New Zealand Inscribed Stock, 1027 and 1938, xtfere sought respectively at £95 5s and £95, sellers in each instance quoting £96. Auckland Harbour Board 6 per cent, debentures had buyers at £100 10s, no sellers quoting. In banks business waS: done in Commercials at 33s 6d, other buyers offering 32s 6d, sellers 33s 6d. Nationals uold at £5 18s 6d, further inquiry at tlhe same figure being mad©, sellers £5 19s 6d. New Zealands wero quoted at 565, sellers 56s 9d. In insurances New Zealands, wantedl at 275, wero quoted at 27s 9d. South British were offered at 395. In finance lines there was inquiry for Dalgetys at £9 lSs. Loan and Mercantile had buyers at £73, sellers £78. In mining Waihis on offer at 28s were sought at 27s 6d. Grand Junctions quoted at 9s 3d were wanted at 8s 9d. The following sales took place:—Commercial Bank, 33s 6d; National Bank, £5 18s 6d.
