FIRE IN A THEATRE.
DAMAGE TO INTERIOR.

TAURANGA. Monday.
The firo brigade was called out last night to a fir© in the Opera House. Flames were coining through the roof when the alarm was sounded. In a couple of minutes the brigade had two leads playing water on to the lire and the flames were speedily extinguished. A good deal of damage was done to the intenor of the hall in the vicinity of" the stage, and fittings were also damaged. The owner of the premises is Mr- IJ.1 J . Munro, who has the following insurances with the Standard Company:—Buildimr. £775; furniture, £75; piano, £25. The cause of the outbreak is a mystery.
