LIQUOR AT RACES.
WELLINGTON COMPLAINT. MANY DRUNKEN WOMEN. [BY TELEGRAPH, —PEEKS ASSOCIATION.} WELLINGTON. Thursday. When application was made for ft license to sell liquor at the Wellington races, the police complained that far too many drunken women were found on tha course. They congregated in 4 particular room. The Bench said the committet could not prevent women from being supplied, but this room must be closea. Counsel for the racing club said official* would do their best to minimise dnnkme by vsomun, and the license was granted on these conditions.
