At the period when the planet Mars was approaching nearest to the earth Signor Marconi, aboard a yacht in the Hudson River, listened with wireless instruments steadily for nearly a fortnight, but failed to hear anything which would lead to the belief that Martians are endeavouring to communicate with the earth.
