AUCKLAND FISH SUPPLIES.
SCARCITY OF VARIETIES. ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS. The rough weather experienced at sea during the past few weeks has had the effect of limiting the supplies of fish reaching the Auckland market. The trawlers have met with heavy seas, making operations difficult. Line fishermen in particular experienced impossible conditions, many of them catching nothing during the week. The City' Council's trawler Simplon was to have made a trip to the west coast on Thursday, but the seas were too heavy. Many of the best varieties of fish were found to be scarce, but there has lately been a plentiful supply of terakihi.
