CIVIL SERVICE SALARIES.

QUESTION OF SECOND " CUT." NO ANNOUNCEMENT YET. [BY TBLBGEAPH. —OWN COIIBE3PONDENT.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday^ The State employees throughout New Zealand appear to be united in opposing the second "cut" in salaries due next month, but they have not yet made their formal representations to Ministers on the subject. The legislation passed by Parliament does not make the second " cut" compulsory. It provides merely that the " cut'' shall not be made earlier than July of this year. Present indications are that the Government intends to proceed with the " cut," but the point may not be made quite clear until Parliament meets.
