STOCKS AND SHARES.

There was again steady demand for investment stocks on the Auckland Sharemarket yesterday. War Loans, 1938, sold at £93 12s fid, late buyers offering £93 10s, with no sellers. The 1939 issue was wanted at £93 10n, sellers asking £94. Soldiers' Loan (bonds) had sale at £97 ss, Taolders requiring £97 10s at the late oall, buyers £97. Inscribed Stock, 1938, sold at £93 10s, more being wanted at the same figure, holders asking £94. In banks New Zealands were done at 52s 63, late buyers offering 52s 3d, sellers 52s 9d. New South Wales (rights) sold at £14 ss, sellers closing at £14 6s, buyers £13 17s, 6d. Nationals were inquired for at £5 17sj sellers asking £6 2s. Sales of Union of Australias took place at £13, holders asking £13 Is at the late call, buyers quoting £12 18s 6d. In insurance Ne'w Zealands were done at 295, mora being offered at the price, but buyer* closed at 28s 9d. Nationals were wanted at 655, sellers 68s. South British were id demand at 36s 9d, sellers 37s 3d. In misceLlaneous Auckland Tramways were dona at 17s 6d, sellers closing at 18s, buyer* 17s 3d. In mining Waihis again changed hands, sales taking place at 265, 25s 6d and 25s 3d, more being wanted at the latter price, sellers asking 25s 6d. Wiiihi Grand Junctions had sales at 7s lid, 7s lOd and 7s 9d, sellers closing at 7s lOd, buyers 7s 9d.
