SOLDIER SETTLEMENT.
NORTH AUCKLAND BALLOT. The ballot held by the North Auckland Land Board yesterday for 20 sections open for soldier settlement resulted in three i ! sections being allotted, the remainder I being still open ior application. About jl7 applications were dealt with. There were « 13 applications fo r a block of" 67 acres < on the well-known Tokatoa swamp, access being by formed road from either Naumai f or Ruawai/on the Wairoa River. W. T. \ Brown, of Ruawai, drew this section. Of j two applicants for a section of 33 acres ] in the Paremoremo Parish, of the Waitemata County, G. Efford was the successfill one. W. Hnyter drew a section of 166 ' acres in the Koheroa Parish, about 10 miles from Pokeno. This section consists of 70 acres of good easy slopes, the bal- f ance being rich swamp land. 3
