— ♦ — HAURAKI MINES, LTD. HALF-YEARLY REPORT. In their half-yearly report the directors of the Hauraki Mines, Ltd., state that a great deal of work has been carried out in the mine during the last half-year, but unfortunately without any gold returns. The prospects of the development works appear to be favourable, and it Hf hoped ttwirtU eventually lead to good results, especially in view of the stopine operations already commenced in the Welcome Find action of the company's property. MINE MANAGERS' REPORTS. PICKED STONE AT HAURAKI. Hauraki.—"ln stripping the reef at the Welcome Find at intermediate level about 21b of picked stine -were loosened by workcrosscut behind the slide has been extended 26ft. making.the total distance 83ft from the Moanataian tunnel. The country passed through mild gold-bearing sandstone. Several email leaders Save crossed the tunnel, but were too small to be of any commercial value. . . Ohinemun.-The south drive is Jm 167 ft, having been extended lift for the week. The reef is the full width of the drive, and neither wall is showing. .The Quarts broken out is of a good description, »d carries plenty of manganese and other minerals. The assay results taken over the full width of drive are: At 144 ft, 8d per ton; at 149 ft, £1 10s 5d per ton; at 154 ft, £1 3s 6d per ton. The north drive has been extended 6ft. and is out a total distance of 100 ft. Ihe reef is the full width of drive, and neither wall is exposed.
