CAR AND CART COLLIDE.
DEATH OF PASSENGER.
MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE LAID. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HAWERA, Saturday.
Early in April a motor-car proceeding from Manaia to Opunake after a football tournament collided in the darkness with a cart driven by a native named Eangimaha. One of the occupants of the car, Thomas Duffy, wag seriously injured, and he died on April 18. Yesterday, at the Opunake Magistrate's Court, Ra'ng«raah;i appeared before justices with manslaughter. Accused reserved his tic fence and was committed for trial at the next sittings of the Supreme Court in New Plymouth.
