Brigadier-General Sir Donald McGavin, Director-General of Medical Services, has been paying a visit of inspection to the military sanatorium at Christchurch. Dr. A. D. S. Whyte, medical officer of health for Dunedin, has resigned. He entered tho service of the Health Department upon the termination of his war duties.
