Tho convening Powers of the Genoa Conference met this morning and disposed of a number of important questions, notably those relating to typhus and the care of children in Eastern Europe. Mr. Lloyd George called the attention of the extreme importance of the matter, and it was decided to deal with it al a plenary session of the conference.
Mr, Lloyd George proposed to discuss the Eastern Galician frontier at a meeting of the sub-commission and endeavour to settle it in accordance wrth existing treaties; likewise the question of Vilna.
M. Barthou pcinted out that these matters were covered by existing treaties and should bo referred to existing machinery. He did not think that they came within the Genoa agenda.
Mr. Lloyd George insisted that they were urgent from the point of view of European peace, and came within the scope of the Cannes resolutions. Ho said that he was determined be raise them at the sub-commission, and if necessary to carry them before tho full inference.
M. Barthou reserved the right to oppose their reference to a plenary session, but said ho was prepared to discuss them at a meeting of the sub-commission. Representatives of tho Turkish Nationalist Government of Angora claimed the right to attend tho conference, but M. Barthou eaid that the Constantinople Government., which w;ia a European Power, was not pVesent, therefore the con. fevcnce could not consider Angola s request.
