The Egmont Racing Club's winter meeting was concluded to-day in fine weather, and there was a good attendance. The totalisator investments for the day were £25.008, against £31,730 on the corresponding day lost year. The grand total for the meeting: was £19,146, compared with £69,158 last year. At a meeting of the Auckland Racing Club Committee yesterday, the president (Hon. Sir Edwin Mitchelson) and Mr. Fred Earl were appointed delegates to tho New Zealand Racing Conference, to be hold in Wellington ill j July. A sub-committee was appointed to consider any amendments to the rules that may be deemed advisable. Accounts total* ling £1366 were passed for payment. All tho usual officials were reappointed for the Winter Meeting. The committee decided to proceed with the work of extending tho fence along the tan track above the hurdle in the straight, with a view to preventing the crowding of tho jump by the public and interference with tho horses while taking part in hurdle races. It was also decided to fill in the ditches on the take-off sido of the stone walls in the steeplochase course. A.R.C. WINTER MEETING* The A.R.C, Winter programme will require further attention from horeeownem today. Acccptances close, at 5 P-m. for , tho Great Northern Hurdle Race, Great Nortnern Steeplechase, and Cornwall Handicap, ana general entries for minor events must be made by tho samo hour. WHANGAREI RACING CLUB. The report presented at the annual meeting of members of the Whangarei Racing Club last- week congratulated members on the marked succoss that has attendeo tho club's operaticus. The sum of £-900 was paid in stakes this season as against m 1919 (the 1920 meeting being held at Avondale). and £34.298 wasi put through the totalisator as against £21,053 10s, in 1919.
