MUIR'S GOLD REEFS. DEVELOPMENT OPERATIONS. [BY TELEGRAFH. OWN COaKESPONDENT.] WAIH3. Thursday. Since the commencement of milling operations in the new battery, up to April 30, .it total of 8990 tons of ore have been crusnsd by Muir's Gold Reefs. Ltd., T6 Puke, from which gold and silver to the value o:t £18,015 4a 4d has been eitra-cted. Arrangements have been completed lit the mine loir increasing the supply of ore to mill, aact it is intended to bring this up to 120 tonn per day a« speedily as possible. The sinkraf; i of another winze (No. 2). from No. 3 level, #.'t a point 315 ft. south of the crosscut has been commenced and at sft., down the reef aseay:i £2 6s 3d per ton. Thie winiie will be sunk 150 ft. A crosscut to intereect the big: lodo s.t a point 150 ft. below the old No. 1 level, has been started, and h&s been driven 20ft. Just before reaching the solid country, massive boulders of quartz, which assayed £5 4s 2d per ton, were met within this crosscut.
