CANADIAN COMMONS DEBATE.
EXCLUSION DEFEATED. A. aud N.Z. OTTAWA, May 9. In the Houso of Commons, a debate on a resolution to exclude Orientals from Canada resulted in an amendment to the resolution to provide for effective restrictions instead of exclusion. The Prime Minister, Mr. W. L. McKenzio Kinc said that the Government was negotiating with China with a view to remedying the conditions by a system of passports. The amendment was adopted.
