STOCKS AND SHARES.
There was no alteration in the tone of the Auckland sharcmarket yesterday. The demand for Government stocks waa sustained, but holders showed little inclination to sell. Soldiers' Loan (both issues) had inquiry at £97 15s, with sellers at £98 10s. New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative (Cunt.) debentures sold at £98. In banks Australasias were done at £12 19s, sellers closing at £13 2s 6d, buyers at £12 15s. New vSouth Wales liad sale at £37 15a, after which there wore no quotations. In insurances South British changed bands at 35s 9d, more being looked for at 35s 6d, sellers 36s 6d. New Zealands at 29s 3d were wanted at 28a 9d. In coals Taupiris (ord.) had sale at 17s 4d. In gas Aucklands (paid lip) sold at 21s 9d, and in shipping Hud-dart-Parkers (ord.) were done at 48s. In timbers Kauris wore placed at 26s 6d. Miscellaneous lines were well nought, but there were no sales. In mining several parcels of Waihia sold at 235, with late sellers at 23s 3d, buyers still offering 235. For Grand Junctions buyers were offering 7s 3d, sellers asking 7s 6d. The following sales took place :-New Zealand Farmers' Co-op.
