I TWO ELDERLY VAGRANTS.
| , j THREE MONTHS' HARD LABOUR. A number of minor cases were dealt 1 with by Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday. Two men. James Ebenezer Price, aged 61, and Frank Evans, aged 66, appeared :on charges of vagrancy. It was stated ': they had been found in a shelter shed in I Mount Eden Road with only a newspaper for a blanket. They appeared to have ' passed the stage when they could work. They had previous convictions on similar . charges. In imposing a sentence •of three months' hard labour in each case the magistrate said it would be better for ac- ; cusod to be kept in shelter for the winter. i ' A fine of £3 was imposed on Charles Fletcher Jackson, aged 35, who admitted havincr committed an indecent act in - Market Entrance.
