I The annual ehooting competition for tho Webster Cup was bred at Penrose rifle range on Saturday, 'ike misty rain during the afternoon rather epout the ecores, although the winning team registered a good, score. Ihis cup was presented by ileaers. , Webster Bros, sixteen years in the daya of tho Volunteers, to tho Specialist Corps, or what wa3 then known as the Blue Battalion and which consisted of the "A Battery Field Artillory. tho No. 3 fciold Engineers i and tho three Garr.aon Artillery companies, and it has been competed for ever ainco. However, after tho inception of tho present Territorial scheme in 1&11. several additional epecialist units wero allowed to compete, so that now keen competition, anu intcrosfc is eh own in this trophy. . ... , ~ The cup wm won again thie year by tno Field Engineers, who have held it for five consecutive years, with a ecorc of 093. being 55 po nts ahead of the 4th Howitzer Battery (o!d College Rifles), the next team, who , scored 638. The other competitors wore tne ,S ; snal Corps (P. and T.). who seored 555, i tho 13th Battery N.Z. Artil ery. 403. and tho Army Service Corpe 417 (with one man short).
