YOUNG CITIZENS' LEAGUE.
The objects of the Young Citizens' League will bo brought before citizens at r- public meeting to bo held at the Town Hall concert chamber next Monday evening. The Mayor, who has convened tho meeting, has written to the various religious bodies, education authorities, and social welfare workers asking that the meeting be made as widely known as possible to parents and others interested in joung people's welfare. The GovernorGeneral, Lord Jellicoe, has intimated that if he is in Auckland at tho time he will be pleased to attend the meeting. The speakers will include Mr. E. C. Cutten, president 0 f the league, Mr. E. 0. Purdio, vice-president of tbe loaguc, Dr. C. E. Maguire, and tho Rev. A. B. Chappoll. A ceremony of initiation of young members will tie conducted. It is part of the declared policy of tho organisation to cooperate in every way with all movements for tho promotion of tho interests of tho young. A largo number of branches of the league have been established in Southern centres, and in Christchurch no fewer than 2300 members have been, enrolled in the higher standards of the echoois.
