INTERCESSORY SERVICES.
CITIZENS MEET TO-DAY.
A citizens' intercessory service will be held to-day In the Town Hall concert chamber from half-past twelve to half-past one o'clock. The Mayor, Mr. J. H. GunBon, will preside, and Mr. J. Maughan Barnett will act as accompanist. This eeries of services which is being commenced to-day is a laymen's movement to give opportunity to citizens to join together once a week in praise and prayer. The service will consist of the singing of the well-known hymns, the •reading of scripture and prayer. Each portion of tho service will last only 15 minutes, and during the singing of the hymns those desiring to do so may enter or leave the hall. At the Rotary Club yesterday, the chairman, the Bev. A. B. Chappell, urged members to attend the service, and support the efforts of .those whose ideal* coincided with those of the club. A whole day of prayer at the Baptist Tabernacle lias been observed each Tuesday for the past 12 months. To-day,' on account of the citizens' intercessory service in the Town Hall, the prayer hours at the TabernacJe will commence at 3 p.ax.
