FIRE AT HASTINGS.
EXTENSIVE DAMAGE D&N& [81 TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] HASTINGS, Saturday.
Early this n.orning a firo broke out in. .Tames McLoughlin's fruit shop in Heretaunga Street. The shop was completely gutted, and the fire spread through the ceilings to Joseph's restaurant on one side to Duncley's tailoring shop on the other. The restaurant and its contents were practically destroyed. Dundey's shop was considerably damaged, and the stock ruined. •
The insurances are:—McLoughliu, £350 in the Australian Alliance; ■ Duttcley, £600, British Trader; Joseph, £325. Yorkshire. C. Hughes, owner of the buildings, was covered in the Guardian office.
