BIRKENHEAD SCHOOL AREA.
Toe question of the district assisting to purchase 2$ acres of land adjoining the Birkenhead side school, by raising £200 of the £B(JD purchase price, the conditions of the Education Board, was further considered at a public meeting held at Birkenhead. Mr. ft. C. Darlow presided. After a lengthy discussion concerning the merits of this site, a committee, consisting of Mesdames M. Good, J. Gracie and Jones, Messrs. ft. Darlow, H. J. Emrys, and R. 0. White, was appointed to investigate all suitable adjacent available sites, and report to a fur-1 ther meeting in a fortnight. It was con- ■ tended that it would be easier to induce the Birkenhead people to contribute a larger sum for a more serviceable level ground. The chairman mentioned that the Education Board's officers had recommended the acquirement of tho area under consideration.
