MISCONDUCT ON TRAINS.

WAIKATO SCHOOL BOYS. GOVERNORS TAKE ACTION. [bz telegraph.—own correspondent] HAMILTON. ThursdayA special meeting of the Board of Governors of the Hamilton High School was held to consider complaints recently made as to the conduct of certain schoolboys on the Morrinsville-Hamilton train. Mr. C. L MacDiarmid presided. Tho acting-principal reported that he had already held an inquiry and had obtained admissions from certain boys who aro in tho habit of using the train in question for the purpose of attending the school. Tho acting-principal was glad to be able to report that the boys in question had come forward freely and without hesitation on being asked to do so. The chairman reported that having conferred with the acting-principal ho and Mr. Fraser had sufrpended tho boys in question pending the board's meeting. After considerable discussion the board

passed certain as follows:—(1) That the action of the chairman and act-ing-principal (Mr. Fraser) in suspending the boys guilty of misconduct be confirmed ; (2) that the punishment of the boys in' question be left in the hands of the acting-principal; (3) that a letter be sent to tho parents of each of the boys concerned, warning them that any repetition of misconduct on the part of their children would be treated as a eround for cancelling the free-placo privileges enjoyed by such children; (4) that a circular be sent to the parents of all boya and girls travelling by train to the High School asking for their co-opera-tion with the board in enforcing seemly and proper behaviour on the part of the scholars when in public conveyances, and informing such parents that they must accept tho responsibility for their children's conduct when the latter are no longer under tho supervision of the teachine staff.
