OBITUARY.

MR. ALFRED BURNETT. [B* TELEGRAPH,—PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WANGANUI. Thundij. The death is announced of Mr. Alfred Burnett, aged 69 years, one of the earliest settlers of the VYanganui district. Ho arrived here in 1856 with his parents, and was a successful farmer, closely identified with the freezing industry and one of the founders of the Wanganui Meat Freezing Company. He took a great interest in returned soldiers, besides donat ing largely to their funds, and cave the sito on which the soldiers' clubhouse stands.
