A general meeting of the Amalgamated Wireless (Australasia), Ltd., considered the agreement with the Commonwealth Government. It was resolved to amend the company's articles in accordance with ( the agreement, and increase the com-, pany's capital by the issu» of 800,000 shares of £1 each. It is stated that the Federal Labour Party intends to vigorously protest against Mr. W. M. Hughes' action in approving of the wireless scheme without the consent of Parliament. It is contended that it is a dangerous precedent to commit the country to the expenditure of £500,000 without Parliamentary sanction.
