AUCKLAND ORPHANS' CLUB.
ELECTION OF OFFICERS.
The annual meeting of the Auckland Orphans,' Club was held in the Scots' Hall, Upper Symondß Street. 0 n Saturday evening, when there was a large attendance. The president, Mr. W. A. Beddoe, presided.
The report and balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory position. Last year's membership totalled 477, M d the cash credit balance was £322, the surplus of assets stalling £431. Th e sum oi hliQ had been raised toward the pur- ?? °* radillin f or the Auckland Hospital. The number of orphans' clubs in the Dominion was 14, new clubs having been formed Last year at Macanchw Jay (Dunedin), Gore, and Te Kuiti. The ocots Hall had been secured for the 1922 session. The following officers were eiecled:-Patron, His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Jellicoe; president Professor Maxwell Walker; vicepresidents, Messrs. T. TJ. Wells, J. Drummond W. Wallace, H. S. Dettmaun, H. K. Mackenzie, J. B. Johnston, W. J. Napier, and th e Hon. G. Fowlds; secre™rv > Mr. J. D. Crawford; treasurer, Mr. H. B. Harper; committee, Messrs E. Winthrop, 3. Lovett, J. P. Howden, J. hobmson, D. Mclnnes, arid W. Peggs; auditors, Messrs. J. A. Gentles and W. n conductor of orchestra, Mr. U F. Cater; pianists, Messrs. C. Towsey, W. Dingle, and L. Elliott.
