AUCKLAND APPOINTMENT.
LOCAL DEPUTY TRUSTEE.
Notification has been received by Mr, R. F. Ward, acting-local deputy public trustee iX Auckland, that he has been appointed local deputy public trustee.
Mr. Ward, who is 31 years of age, is au AiKklanaer by birth. He was educated at the Grafton Dwstric; School and the Auckland Grammar School, entering the public servico 14 years Ugo as a cadet in the lands and survey office at Auckland. While with that department he qualihed as a solicitor about the time of the outbreak of war, and was appointed to the professional division of the public trust office. After working for a time at the head office, Wellington, Mr, Ward went abroad with the Expeditionary Force. On return and demobilisation he was appointed district solicitor to the Auc'kland branch of the public trust office in 1919. After Borao months in this position he was in 1920 appointed assistant local deputy public trustee, Auckland. When in October last Mr. E, 0. Hales, local deputy trustee at Auckland, was appointed to the Public Trust Board and transferred to Wellington Mr. Ward was chosen to fill his place in an acting capacity. He has now been notified of his confirmation in the position. When authority was given for officers of the Publio Service to join chambers of commerce Mr. Ward became a member of that body in Auckland. It is generally considered that his choice as chief officer of the Auckland branch of the Public Trust office will be popular among the logal profession in Auckland, members of which have many dealings with the office.
