BISHOP LISTON'S SPEECH.

PROSECUTION ORDERED,

DECISION OF CABINET,

The Cabinet has decided that Dr. J. M. Liston, Roman Catholic Coadjutor-Bishop of Auckland, shall be prosecuted on a charge of seditious utterances on the occasion of his speech in the Town Hall on the evening of St. Patrick's Dav, March 17.

This statement was made yesterday by the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. W. F. Massey. He said the Government was acting on the report received from the Crown Law to whom Dr. Liston's speech was referred by the Minister for Justice, the Hon. E. P. Lee.
