MEN IN DOMAIN SHELTERS,
CARE OP HOSPITAL BOARD.
AGREEMENT COMPLETED.
Arrangements for a change in the control of the returned soldier patients in the tuberculosis shelters in the Domain have been completed. At midnight on Friday, March 31, the responsibility for the men will be transferred from the Defence Department lo the Auckland Hospital Board.
The agreement arrivod at provides that the Defence Department shall hand over to the board the shelters and furniture in them, and all other appointments. The department will not provide any personnel to assist the board in the treatment of the patients as has been done hitherto. It is to pay the board 10s 6d a day for each patient. It is to hand over to the board the building in the vicinity of tbe shelters, at present used as a nurses' home, free of cost. The terms of the agreement were confirmed by the board last evening. The board also ratified an agreement for the taking over of returned soldier massage out-patients. The Defence Department is to pay the board Is 6d per treatment for each man, and it is to sell to the board any equipment required for the treatment at landed cost price less depreciation.
