THE RUGBy GAME. THE CHURCHES' UNION. The annual meeting of tho Auckland Churches' Rugby Union was held last evening. Mr, J. V. Mackay presided over au attendance of about 30 delegates. The annual report showed that tho union was formed last year, with ihe object of fostering {he game among the young men of the churches. Ten entries were received, representing 241 players. Difficulty was experienced in the eajly part of the season in procuring playing grounds, bu' tho securing of a ground at tho Outer Domain relieved the position. A shortage of referees was apparent during the season. The competition was very close, and Onehunga United and Mount Albert tied for first place. _ Tho report expressed gratification a*, the initial success of the union, and stated that all the games had been played in a splendid spirit. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance cf £7. The proposal to hold a senior competition in connection with the union was doferrod till neit yeaj. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr. J. V. Macky; vicepresidents, Messrs. R. L. Stewart, H. Halliwell, and R. W. Gordine; hon. secretary, Mr. B. Menziea; hon. treasurer, Mr. R. V. Stewart; hon. auditor, Mr. A. _G. Brown. The committee will be comprised of ono | delegate from each affiliated club.
