SPORTS AT THE DOMAIN.'

St. Patrick's Day falls to-day. and w iU be partially observed in Auckland. The banks, insurance offices, some of the Government departments and the Stock Exchange will bo clohrd, but most of the business premises will remain open as usual. In the rase of the primary schoo's it is left to the school committee concerned to decide whether a holiday j 8 to be given.

The celebrations this year will fie held both toflay and to-morrow, The Ngarua, wahia Regatta will be held to-day. when an attractive programme of aquatic events should draw targe attendance. The St. Patrick's Day concert will ba held this evening in the Town Hall. The Bakers ami Pastrycooks' Exhibition will opeu to day in the No. 8 sM, Contra) Wharf.

i To-monow's programme includes tha children's procession ;:nd the athletic , sports gathering at the Doma ; n, where a | spectacular display will be given by 2000 I school-ch.ldren. Iho procession will ]eav 6 | St. Patrick's Cathedra! at 10 o'clock, and I will proceed along Queen Street to the j Domain, via, Karangatape Road and Graf. : ton Bridge. Three thousand children will i form the procession, most of whom will | be marching, though some will be ccnj veyed in decorated lorrirs. Th e childI ren's spirts wi'l commence at noon and i the athletic sports at 1.15 pm. Dancing | competitions will also be trld, while j club drill by girls fiom St. Joseph's I Convent, Grey Lvnn, will he a feature of j the gathering. At four o'clock a mated i display wi'l be given hv 2000 childrw. ! The display will be on different lines from those of previous efforts, and tbo formation of a 'living shamrock* is expected to provide a very fine effect.
