ACTIVITIES OP THE SOCIETY. The plant section of the Auckland Ac- ! climatisation Society met yesterday, Mr. H- Goidie presiding. ! A quantity of Blueberries wero swJ ceived from the Board of Park Coramisjeioners at Vancouver. Mr. Haywood Wright reported that he I had been charged -10 per cent. Customs duty on two cherry trees he imported. He considered the rate was too high for trees that were not, imported for the purposes of sale, and were of genera] value to the country. It was decided to refer the matter to the Minister for Customs. Copies were received of the !n*t 10 annual reports of the director of the Botanic Gardens at Sydney, and it was decided to thank the sender. Mr. R. Vnlden, undersecretary of the New South Wales ' Department of Agriculture, for his trouble.
