Customs duty on two cherry trees he imported. He considered the rate was too high for trees that were not, imported for the purposes of sale, and were of genera] value to the country. It was decided to refer the matter to the Minister for Customs. Copies were received of the !n*t 10 annual reports of the director of the Botanic Gardens at Sydney, and it was decided to thank the sender. Mr. R. Vnlden, undersecretary of the New South Wales ' Department of Agriculture, for his trouble.
