ROAD BOARD MEETINGS.
MOUNT KUBKILL.
The Mount Roskill Road Board met on Tuesday evening. Thero were present: Messrs. G. E. Tansley (chairman). J. Peet. J. J. Preston, S. Scarborough, H. Luke, S. Hamon. and E. J. Herd.
The board decided to seek the co-opera-tion of the Auckland City Council and the One Tree Hill Road Board in removing the shelter shed at Greenwood's Corner to another site, allowing more room between the ehed and the tramway. The cost of removal is estimated at about £30. It was reported that a right-of-way between Rose Street and Crown Street had been dedicated. It will not, however, be opened to the public until it is surveyed and fenced. The One Tree Hill Domain Board notified that it had agreed to a reservoir being erected on One Tree Hill liy the Mount Roskill Road Board, the plans to be approved by the Domain Board. Two tenders, eaoh of £20 per annum, v. ere received for leasin<* Hillsborough Domain for three years. The tender of Messrs. Booth brothers, the present' tenants, was aocepted. It was reported that the amount of general rate collected this year was £4209, leaving only £295 outstanding. ONE TREE HILL. The One Tree Hill Road Board met last evening, the chairman, Mr. R. G. Clark, presiding. An application was received for a reduction in charge for water supplied to the Cornwall Park sohool. On the recommendation of the Finance Committee it was decided to reduce the price to la per 1000 gallons, an allowance,of 6d per 1000 gallons., A letter was received from Mr, B. N. Fernvhougb suggesting that swimming baths should be established In the crater of Mount St. John in place of tennis courts, as proposed. The letter was referred to the Domain Board. The engineer reported that the tender of Kidd, Garrett. Ltd.. of £899 12s 6d for the supply and delivery of*water pipes had been accepted. In respeot to the re laving of gas mains taken up on account of the concrete paving of Manukau Road, arrangements had been made with the Auckland Gas Company, subjeot to the approval of the board, for the work to be carried out. The board would open a trench to a sufficient width to take uoth water and gas mains on one side of the road. The board wouM lay the water mains and the company the gas mains. The sanitary inspector's report stated that recently his work had been chieflv confined to the Ponrose district. .Householders were carrying out necessary improvements with reasonable expedition.
