CALLS TO THE BRIGADES.

A grass 6re on a property in Upland Road, Remuera, at 11.40 a.m. yesterday resulted in a call to the Remuera and Parnell Fire Brigades. The fire was extinguished before any damage had been done.

The Parnell Brigade also received a call at 4 p.m. to Campbell's Point, where the scrub at the lop of the cliff had become ignited. Little trouble was experienced in beating out the flames. A glare in the direction of Henderson last evening attracted attention of residents in the northern parts of the city. The fire was situated at the top of the Bwanson tunnel hill, where a quantity of timber was aflame. The ignition of some tar that was kins boiled on the King's Wharf at mid-day yesterday, led to the summoning of the City Fire Brigade.
