DAMAGES FOR INJURIES.

SEQUEL TO MOTOR ACCIDENT.

Judgment in an action for damages arising out of a motor-car accident in Hobson Street was given by Mr. J. E. Wilson, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court yoaterditf. Thomas Martin Hutchinson (Mr. Tompkins), dry cleaner, sued Gerald Joseph Holt, taxidriver, for £200 damages, it beinc alleged that he was struck and injured by defendant's car owing to defendant's negligent driving. Defendant was not represented by counsel. Counsel for plaintiff said that as it had been indicated that the magistrate was prepared to allow £103 12s plaintiff would accept judgment for that amount Judgment was accordingly given for £103 12s, with £8 costs.
