A large and representative collection ( of paintings and drawings, the work of the well-known artist Mr. P. van dti' Velden (deceased), has been presented to the New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts by an anonymous donor. The collection comprises several large canvases in A many studies and rough sketches intf- 8 same medium, and a number of exquistf* studies in black and white.
