GOVERNMENT MEAT FUNDS.

Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association. (Rood. 7.S D.ml LONDON. Feb. 20.

William Henry Cuffin and Sidney Vigars Nevanas, members of the firm of Nevanas and Company, Ltd., and tho secretary of tho comnauy, J. H. Qiilingham, have been committed for trial on charges of fraudulently converting Government monoys.

The liquidators of Novanas and Company, Ltd, charged William Henry Cuffin and Sidney Vigars Nevauas at the Guildhall with tho fraudulent conversion of Government moneys, totalling £170,000, while acting as Government meat agents. The prosecuting counsel, at the preliminary hearing, said the allegation was that Cuffin and Nevanas utilised for their own use roonoy coming to their hands which ought to have been paid to the Government.
