TuesdayA meeting of the local committee and others interested in tho campaign to raise funds for the Auckland United Protestant orphanage homes was held last night, the Mayor, Mr. B. Dive, presiding. It was unanimously agreed u> make N house-to-house canvass of the borough and country districts. Between 30 and 40 canvassers were appointed. At a meeting of members of the Tauranga Rowing Club held last night tae sub-committee submitted a detailed ieporfc for tho construction of a two-storeyed rowing shed, estimated to cost £425. A deputation was appointed to wait on the Borough Council and make a request for the baths site on the eastern waterfront as tho site for the proposed new building.
