TO-DAY'S FORECAST.

GOVERNMENT REPORT.

Tho Government meteorologist reported last night as follows:—Present indications are for moderate to strong southeast winds, backing to northerlies in and northward of Cook Strait, northerlies prevailing and freshening elsewhere. Dull, misty conditions at times, with scattered rain lightly in North Island, and fair to cloudy weather in the South, but with increasing oloudincss for a change following shortly. The barometer will fall everywhere soon.

MR. C. L. WRA&GE'S FORECAST. The following weather forecast was supplied to us by Mr. Clement L. Wragge at 8 o'clock yesterday High pressure still governs tho country, but there are indications that it will shortly break up, and that a change to the unsettled and rainy typo will follow. In tho meantime mostly fair to cloudy, except along the coast between Napier, East Cape, Bay of Plenty, Wfiangarei and Monjjnnm whero some rain will occur. Winds from between east-south-east and northeast, soon veering northerly. Roughish seas along tho East Coast of the North Island. Shipping should note that conditions arc decidedly suspicious north from the 30th parallel. Another disturbance has appeared on the sun.
