YOUNG PEOPLE'S GATHERING.
WORK OF SUNDAY-SCHOOLS.
The first public function in connection with tho Methodist Contenary Conference, the young people's demonstration, was held at the Pitt Street Church last even ing, the building being packed. The retiring vice-president, Mr. W. Dodds, oc cupied the chair, and was supported by Sister Maud Coleman, who recently arrived from England, the Rev. A. C. Lawry, organising secretary of the centenary movement, the Rev. T. A. Joughin, chairman of tho young people's board, and the Rev. C. H. Olds, young people's organising secretary. Sister Coleman and Mr. Olds were the speakers, and were enthusiastically received. The outstanding feature of the programme was the procession of Sunday-school scholars presenting the offerings of the various schools throughout the Dominion toward the young people's centcnary gift of £1000. The amount contributed by each school represented was read out, over £500 being reported. As ffiMiy of the schools have not yet completed their effort there is overy prospect of the objective being reached before long.
