PRINCESS MARY.
UNIQUE ENGAGEMENT RING.
LONDON, Feb. 8.
Some interesting details regarding Princess Mary's engagement ring have been obtained by the London DaOy Mail. The ring consists of a square, flawless emerald, which weighs three carats, and has a claw setting in plain platinum. This particular emerajd is known as a "specimen gem," and is an exceedingly rare example. "Emeralds are very seldom found without, some small defect, said a West End jeweller. "Pearls, diamonds, a,nd rubies can all be obtained 'perfect in thousands of cases, but an emerald such as the one in Princess Mary's ring is an altogether exceptional I stone."
I "Do you know where Princess Mary is likely to have her wedding cake made?" a' woman reporter asked a well-known wedding cake "specialist." "I think without doubt it will be made in the Royal Household," he said. "They have all the facilities in the Royal kitchens for making such a cake, and the scheme of decoration will most probably be chosen by the bride."
