RISE OF GILT-EDGED STOCKS.

(Reed. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON. Feb. 18. The prospectus of the Victorian loan of £4,000,000 will be advertised on Monday. The final instalment is payable in April, and six months'- interest is payable on October 1. Financial circles consider that owing to favourable money conditions the loan will be readily taken up. All gilt-edged stocks continue to advance. Consols are now at £55 10s, and one sale was made at £56 ss. The 5 per cent, war loan is at £95 10s, as against £94 on Thursday. Several transactions were effected at £96 £s.
