NEW CANCER TREATMENT.
SIMPLE MEDICAL METHOD.
LONDON DOCTOR'S SYSTEM
Can internal cancer be cured by simple medical treatment? Is the disease which has baffled the leading scientist* of the world to give way Lefore a course of medicine which will render operations uenecessary? Theso interesting questions are raised by the success which it is claimed has attended the efforts of Dr. Reginald Larkin, a London general practitioner.
Dr. Larkin has made no attempt to keep his treatment secret. He has made it known to his fellow practitioners | through tho medium of tho Lancet. He ; believes that internal cancer is nearly I alwavs associated with some form of rheuI matism. and in consequence will yield to a course of alum taken as medicine. The prescription he recommends is composed mainly of alum sulphate, light carbonate of magnesia, and citrate of potassium, mixed with water and a few drops of chloroform. This treatment has been used by the doctor for several years past, and it has resulted in a number of apparent cures, The cases yielding tho best results have been those of cancer in the intestine, the stomach, the gall-bladder, and the prostrate gland. " The doctor saved my life, that fact is beyond question," said Mr. E. W. I , Knight, a tailor. " Before I went to ' him, earlier in the year, with cancer I could scarcely move. I almost wished to | die, the pain was so intense. Two of the i best specialists in London said my only hope was an immediate operation, and one was very doubtful that I should come through it. I had decided to be operated on when the police told mo that their doctor—Dr. Larkin is the local divisional surgeon—had a treatment for cancer, and so I went to him. I was in his hands for ten weeks, simply taking his medicine every four hours, and now I am as fit and strong as a young man, and I am just on fifty years old. " I know of other people whoso recovery has been just as wonderful. The doctor has told me that his secret lies in removing from the body by medical treatment the poison which causes the internal growth. Ho has not yet been successful with external cancer, but he believes that he will be soon."
Among recent cases which have passed through the doctor's hands is that of a woman with a malignant growth in the breast and neck. Three doctors advised an operation. The patient, after three weeks under Dr. Larkin, was in good health, with the growth completely gone.. A South London man suffered with intestinal cancer. Ho was advised by a specialist to sell his business, as there was no hope of his being able to work again. He is now quite well, and ablo to conduct his affairs in the ordinary way. The doctor is regarded as a sort of medical magician in South East London. His people have spread his fame to their friends in tho provinces, with the result that patients are travelling long distances to consult him.
