RECRUITS FOR NAVY.
RESPONSE IN DOMINION.
AUCKLAND HEADS LIST.

Statistics in connection with recruiting fo«> the New Zealand Naval Forces sh6\v marked differences in tho number of recruits who presented themselves in tho various recruiting districts. The total number was 304 and as regards districts 1 Auckland heads the list with 80, Christchurch is shown with 40, Invercargill follows with 32, Dunediu 28, Palmerston North 26, and Rawera 22. In each of the remaining six districts less than 20 candidates presented themselves, In the Wellington district there were 14 only. The number medically examined was 265, while 11 were rejected without medical examination, being under the physical standard.
The number finally entered was 111. This gives a proportion of two out of 6ve or 40 per cent, rejected on medical grounds. The remainder were rejected on other grounds.
