SHACKLETON'S FUNERAL.
SERVICES IN MONTE YIDEO.
! (Received 11.5 p.m.) Times. LONDON, Feb. 15. I A despatch from Monte Video states ! that after a State ceremony the body of the late Sir Ernest Shackleton Vas conveyed to the whaler Woodvill for transport to South Georgia. Ex-service men acted as pall-bearers. The British Charge d'Affairos, British officials, and a number of people from Buenos Aires followed the remains. The cortege was escorted by a guard of honour composed of Uruguayan Lancers. The streets were lined with soldiers carrying old flags used in Uruguay's War of Independence.
A funeral sonrice was read in the English Church. The coffin, which was covered with a Union Jack, was a rough wooden one, inscribed "Ernest Henry Shackleton, died 5/1/22. There were wreaths from the wife and family of the late explorer, the Uruguayan Government and Sir Ernest Shackleton's iribther.
