EVOLUTION OR CREATION?
I Sir,—The Rev. .lasper Calder is welcome | to believe that his ancestors came out, of a zoological garden, but many of us , believe ours came out of the Garden of Eden. Some one lias well said, "It is very sad to find men of sense, to say nothing of scientific attainments, poking jjround in a poor blind fashion through tho bars of a monkey cage to discover their fathers and in a fish pond to discover their mothers, anxious to trace their ancestors to protoplasm, tadpole, frog, mud terrapin, goose, dog, and baboon." If we accept the evolutionary theory of man's origin, then we must reject the Getesis ' narrative. To speak about " the Bible j story as an oriental allegory and not ! scientific study," as Mr. Calder doe? is j just another way of saying that Genesis is not true. Such talk as Mr. Gilder ini dulged in last Sunday evening is to be found in infidel books. To dony the Genesis account of man's creation is to deny the testimony of Jesus Christ, who said. " In the beginning God created them male i and female." Alex. A. Murray. 19, Argyle Street, Heme Bay.
