PROVISION FOR WIDOW.
COURT GRANTS ANNUITY.
SEPARATED FROM HUSBAND. Argument was heard in the Supreme Court bv Mr. Justice Herdman on an originating summons issued by Anne Houlihan (Mr. BagnaJl), widow of Thomas Houlihan, of Mount Eden, deceased, claiming £5 a week or _a iump sura out of the estate. The estate was valued at £7000 and under the will the widow was not made anv bequest, as tbe parties *ere separated. Mr. Richmond appeared for a daughter, Mrs. Scanla'n, who objected to any order beyond £3 a week. Air. Coates appeared for the trustees nnder the will. The deceased's two 'txecutors, Peter Houlihan and Tbomas F. Houlihan, consented to the application. It was stated that the widow
was 76 years old and had no property, and that all the afisefs had been left to the three children. His Honor declined to allow a lump ium, hut ordered an annu : tv of £175 to he paid out of the estate to Mrs Houlihan during her !ife, and the costs of all parties to be paid out of the estate.
