A scheme is afoot among manufacturers to raise a fighting fund to assist the National Party to defeat the Labour Party ui the forthcoming elections, and thereby scotch the 44-hour week movement, which it is claimed is crippling many' industries. The proposal is that employers pay to a fund a levy of five farthings weekly for eaeh employee.
