DIVISION IN CABINET. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 6.30 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 13. Mr. H. H. Asquith will open the debate in tho House of Commons on tho report of the Geddes Committee today, when he will move an amendment to the Ad-dress-in-Reply, condemning tho extravagance of Ministers and their failure to reduce tho crushing burden of taxation, which is necessary to stimulate trado and reduce unemployment. The Daily News assorts that the Cabinet is acutely divided over the proposed defence reductions.
ADMIRALTY'S REPLY.

LONDON, Feb. 12.
Mr. L. C. M. S. Amery, Financial Secretary to the Admiralty, accepts responsibility for the publication of tho Admiralty's reply to the report of the Geddes Committee. He states that the report "is gravely misleading and dangerous in many respects, and that it was necessary to issue a definite correction immediately."
It is unofficially stated that Earl Beatty, First Sea Lord, was mainly responsible for tho publication of tho reply simultaneously with the publication of the committee's report, without asking tho consent of Cabinet, which would have beon refused.
