CHELTENHAM CARNIVAL.
J The aquatic carnival to bo held under | the auspices of the Cheltenham Aquatic Sports' Society at Che'tenhani Beach this afternoon promises to be one of the finest attractions of its kind ever held at tho favourite beax.li, and a largo attendanco is anticipated. Amusements of infinite variety nave been provided, including sand-designing for children, treasure hunt, sido shows, and a beauty competition for the ladies. Special features of the carnival will bo a series of swimming races and rowing events, to be decided during tho afternoon. A demonstration by the sea scouts, depioting tho rescuo of the crew | of the Helen B. Sterling, will not be tho least of the many attractions. The car- \ nival is to be carried on during the oven-' ing with dancing at the jazz cabaret, and ! the darktown fire brigade demonstration I will cause much / fun, Aeroplane flights have been arranged, and a free flight is j to bo the reward of tho person discovering •, tho mysterious Mr. Aeroplane on tho I beach.
